Two super talented artists, that I admire every day of my life and are a really big inspiration (at least for me), are about to start a new adventure to teach everyone their secrets.

I'm talking about Stephen Silver and Bobby Chiu, and I think everyone here know them.

Have a look at their project:

pretty expensive for 9hrs worth of courseware ($998), for one single course. You can easily learn similar techniques here or even through Gnomon's DVDs which would be a fraction of the cost. I applaud their effort, but I think the cost and possibly the production quality may be a factor in people not signing up.

I think a large part of the cost is also the critiques, which I think would be extremely helpful. Not only do you get crits on your work, but you get to see crits that other people receive.

I was in Animation Mentor and I felt the crits I received were much more important than the video lessons. Not to say the lessons weren't important too though :)

Good idea...but I can see why some would consider it pricey.

geez, that voiceover alone was enough to make me say "pass". it just gives the whole thing a cheap feelling.

I am taking Bobby Chiu's course right now and it is pretty good.
I signed up for Stephen Silver's as well.
Where I live there aren't too many famous artists so I am pretty happy that they did this.

Hi Thi,

What are your impressions of Schoolism? Has Silver's class started yet? I was thinking of taking that one, it's pretty pricey and that's the only thing that holding me back right now.

Thanks,

Roger
