hi everyone!

i am trying to set up a netrender network over the internet. however, i am confused by the proper usage of the ip settings.
both server and client pcs are behind seperate routers.

- the server pc router has it's ip adress i find here http://www.ip-adress.com/
- same strategy with the client pc router.

now, i tried to ping the router ips from both server and client. both ways fail to ping eachother.

as a consequence i keep getting errors messages when trying to set up a netrender.

questions:
- which ip adresses do i need to enter into the netrender server/client? the ones of the router or the pc? (the pcs are in different locations)
- what am i doing wrong because i cannot ping the remote router and vice versa?

can someone help here?

thanx for your time

- The address of the router on both cases. And you must enable forwarding on 1080 and 80 ports.
- Pinging the routers is ok, but many comes with icmp disabled on the WAN interface. I think that's the problem.

almost there :))
so here's what i do:

- > find out the router adresses via http://www.ip-adress.com/
enter these into both client and server

-> as for ports, i forwarded 1080 and 80 on my router. WHICH ONES DO I ENTER INTO THE NETRENDER SETUP?

- > do i need to forward the ports on the client router as well?

thanx

Yes sure, you must forward the ports on both routers. The LAN part behind the routers is not directly accessible from the outside.
If you have the client behind your router, forward 1080 port. On the router in front of the server forward 80.

By default the server has 80 and client has 1080, check the Net Client settings.
