Title: Obsessed (nudity)
Name: Semih Yaman
Country: Germany
Software: 3ds max, mental ray, Photoshop

Hi,
i wanted to create a contrast between organic and non-organic forms, keeping everything very basic to concentrate on pose, deformation and clean lighting.

The scene is lit with MRs glow shader and a second
area light coming from the front. I used final gather
with high quality and resolution settings, so rendertime
was about 8 hours.

I hope you can enjoy it.

I really like this.
The concept is really cool and very well executed. Nice rendering style too. For an 8 hour render it was definitly worth the wait.

a rather powerfull piece! though you could have tackled the hands a bit more interestingly. colors are realy great!

I love it! It's like a Predator-Cthulhu-Car-Girl in a fish tank!

My only crit is the elbows. They're a bit hard on the outside and on the inner elbow the forearm interpenetrates the upper arm.

very interesting i like it

a few things bother me though, the deformation around the pelvis is odd (lost too much volume), the groves for the ribs are in the wrong place but mostly the pose. It would be impossable for someone to maintain that pose, if they had all the weight on their toes then the center of mass would have to be much further foreward than it is or they would fall ovver.

nice stuff though keep up the good work.

I wouldn't say that its pose is wrong. I think it's great from a composition point of view. I look at it as though it were a sculpture like I've seen at exhibitions, and the centre of mass could be anywhere as long as it looks interesting. Anyway, how are you sure that this thing can maniptulate matter and gravity? :D

I am not...i commented cos i likes the image, the pose looks odd though.
As for sculptures, most are based in reality in so much as proportions, pose and scale. they have very natural weight and pose.

Like i say, i like the image and idea and as such those few things bothered me about it, if i didnt care for the image then they wouldnt have...

keep up the good stuff....tak.

cool pic, I love the colors and reflections, pushing the anatomy a little further would really help this piece. Areas such as the ribcage just look wrong as opposed to stylized. Cool render though.

Thank you very much everybody, for your great comments and ideas.

O.K.... so, what is it ? Is it a car girl in a fish tank (hahahaha... perhaps i should change
the title :buttrock:... ) or is it a sculpture like you see in exhibitions, is it perhaps out of a world
without gravity and matter, is she alive or made from metal, is it skin or hard body ?

I worked on this image for 4 days, there were versions with hands, with mi sss fast skin,
the face was completely modeled, the pose was more balanced,...

Then i reverted from all this and returned to the initial design sketch and the more
energetic version i had created on the first day. Simply because it worked better,
and this is the only version that really captured the athmosphere i imagined.
When i was looking at it i didnt know what it was, but i liked the mood it created,
so i knew it was finished.

This is the resolution, i painted some smaller details on, using max native paint deformer.
For rendering the meshes were subdivided one more time.
