So I've been moving along at a pace I'm quite happy with in regards to my study of the human figure, but one item (along with that darn radius and ulna :scream: ) has been confusing me for a while now.
When viewing the skeleton from the side, in the study I am following the depth of the rib cage is the size of the head plus a half added to the back, leaving the chest in line with the front of the face. Sounds simple enough, but while looking through some anatomy books I noticed that many people have the skeletons rib cage in line with the back of the head, and added a half onto the front. Others have the rib cage actually coming back in just a tiny bit from the back of the head. For example Loomis seems to be in line with the back of the head (plus a bit extra once muscles go on top) with the chest sticking out nearly a half the size of the head.
So I'm a little confused. On a standard male what is the size of the rib cage? I'm interested in what size people use in their own drawings.
