hi everyone!
I have a problem that's driving me crazy, and I suspect there's an easy solution to it that
just eludes me at the moment.
I'm working at a framework which should have a smooth curve (horizontally at the pic
below), and also a square cross-section and sharp edges where the struts meet. I
would usually insert loops near edges I want to stay sharp and then smooth the mesh.
The problem: When inserting those edges I get too many loops where the struts meet,
resulting in dents after smoothing. creating a bevel instead of loops also didn't work, the bevel tool fails where 3 edges meet, resulting in triangular faces.
At the moment I'm trying to adjust vertices to conceal the dents as good as possible,
but that takes much time. is there a simple solution for this?
thanks in advance,
quos
