Hi there!

In order to learn another modeling technique I started modeling a spline cage, so far so good. I applied the surface modifyer and worked. But than the problems came up.

You probably see my problems. How can I make really sharp edges without using meshsmooth´s weight and crease?

Can you give some hints?

Heh. I'm currently working on a Buzz Lightyear of Borg model. Lot of fun.

In the front of Buzz's armour, right at the top, there is that little square with a winged logo. I want that part sharp around the edges where it meets the rest of the armour. So, on top of Surface, I added Edit Mesh and made sure that little bit has a different Smoothing Group than the rest. Then, I tell MeshSmooth to work on Smoothing Groups. So, that little bit with the logo, is "isolated" and has hard edges.

In the attachement, you can see how the logo part is hard edged, but other parts are not (that perhaps should be).

If you read through the sub-d thread, you might come up with a few other ideas.
