View Full Version : tri-pod character and walk cycle

i didn't really get much feed back on the WIP forum so i suppose it is ready to be posted here. it is just a small peice for my reel, but still deserves some love. i created everything you see, rig model texture and animation. it was all created in about three weeks, the animation cycle took <4hrs. the character's name is artemous lovedust and he was thought up by a very talented concept artist named Paul Waijman. he is a buddy of mine, and deserves some lovin as well. this was a piece i made back in school, but i finally have the time to animate him my self the way i want to. if there is something you would like to see this character do other than walk, please let me know i would be more than happy to oblidge.

codec is dv/dvc pro, willing to oblidge with whatever codec you want, just let me know.

Hi,

Nice walkcycle!
Although I must admit it does need some tweeking to be more appealing to watch
The beauty of a walkcycle is that it cycles to infinite!
That way it's quite easy to spot flaws and such

If you look for about 1 full minute at your walk, you'll notice that your character doesn't really convey a sense of weight.

Also his extreme head sweep becomes a bit annoying after a while.
And nothing that a character does in a infinite loop should be annoying, EVER!!!
This is a little tip that I picked up along the way ;)


As for quicktime codec I would advise to use sorensen 3
Since this codec has a nice balance between image quality and sound
