Aloha maya freaks! =)
Yesterday I plaed with maya nodes and found Height Field, i think it was called. Anyway for you that havn't seen that node it's a way of seeing the displacement of a sertain shader in realtime. At first when I saw it it blew me away, totaly! I assagned a noisa and animated it, wohoa, live water =D. But anyway when I tryed to render it I couldn't see anything. After that I looked in the help file and it said something like this "The height field node can't bee seen in renderings" , DOH!!
Anyway =), I looked in the examples for fluid effects in maya and saw a nice example of the height field.
There was 2 planes, one nurbs plane, and the height field plane.
And when you rendered you saw exactly what you saw on the height field! I looked at the connections and it was a bit complex, and I couldnt find any "Assing-plane-to-heightfield-button". Is there any scripts/plugins for that, (may be it don't have to be a height plane, maybe do the same thing on a character?), or should I do a script on my own? =)
