View Full Version : help on vraysun shadows.
oceans68 04-24-2007, 11:47 PM I'm working on an residential complex.
using Vray sun adn sky and Vray Camera.
I'm rendering but the shadows are very dark (black) and don't allow to see the details that are in the shaded area.
is there a way to control the vray shadow darkness?
I'll appreciate any help!
here is the beginning of the work. still with preliminary materials.

Well, they are not completly dark, using LInear space is what you get
try using REINHARD color space:
burn>0.5-0.8
also turn off saturation to a 0.5-0.8 (walls are to yellowish)
what are settings for camera? sun is 1.0? you can even set it to 0.5

Because vraysun is made to represent the physically accurate analogies it is not as controllable as a normal light. My solution is to render the scene in render passes and then lower the shadow intensity in the prefer application that you will comp the passes.
