I need help using the UV texture editor. I know its like taking a snapshot of a polygon unwrapped and then making the texture in photoshop or what ever 2d program.
I have looked for a tutorial online but have come up short, which has broughtme to ask my peers for help.

If someone could explain how to make this function work or send a link with a tutorial it would be very helpful.

thank you very much

try the maya docs for help.

its quite `simple`...you create a UV mapping in maya and can tweak/modify the uvs in the texture view.
Its like a big puzzle and can drive u crazy sometimes tough :)

i've not tried it yet but it looks to be an interesting and different (simpler?) way to go about unwrapping a model...

Womanonfire, thanks for posting my link! Didn't think anyone out there actually saw my page. :)

The scripts have been updated a teeny tiny bit. Just some general cleanup, comments, and the addition of a big readme file that goes over the process I use for UV mapping. Hope this actually helps someone out there...
