Hi,

I got a problem loading Maya since this morning...I don't know why I got this error now and I haven't had it before because I didn't change anything since last night...I must say my computer crashed down so I restarted and reloaded my scene to see if everything was Ok before going to bed...And Everything was just fine...Anyway, my friend already had this problem and we never been able to find out how to repair it whitout re-installing win2000 completely. Re-Installing Maya wasn't enough...;)

When I start Maya, It's loading everything...Then, instead of showing the working views it's just showing the Script Editor with these lines wrote in:

// Error: Object's name is not unique: Shelf2a00700 //
// Error: Could not create command port : paranoy2k:****//
// mental ray for Maya: setup
// mental ray for Maya: initialize
// mental ray for Maya: using 1 license(s)
// mental ray for Maya: register extensions
// mental ray for Maya: successfully registered
// Error: Object not found: //

Under the script Editor I tried to delete the Shelf using the deleteShelfTab command but it has never found the shelf name so it can't be deleted... :mad:

?

Any Idea about my problem?

I don't know exacly what to do, but doesn't it look like it's somethign with Mental Ray?
I haven't tried it out, but I've heard it's pretty buggy.
Sorry that I do not know what to do, just wanted to add an input...

I don't think so, when I look at the command lines, Mental ray seem to be loaded correctly as usual...

The problem seem to be with the shelf that would have a duplicate of himself so Maya don't know what to do with...

I really don't know much about Scripting under Maya...I'm sure it's a really small problem that could be repered easily so I'll wait for other suggestions and try some moves before Re-installing my windows...
