Hi All,
FYI -
In our initial testing, the new rendering engine in After Effects CS3 is 50% more efficient than in CS2.
Our test file, totalbenchmark_AE6.aep rendered over 50% faster in CS3 than in CS2. We enabled the multiprocessing option ("Render multiple frames simlutaneously") in the Preferences. (With this option disabled, the renders were only slightly faster than in CS2)
stage 1 - 16 secs.
stage 2 - 245 secs.
(dual Xeon 5355's)
WOW!
This was on a XP32 system with 4GB of RAM. The test render actually used up all available system RAM, so my feeling is that the render will be even faster on a 64bit system with abundant RAM.
This will be my next test.
Cheers,
Adam
