Hey everyone
I wonder if you can use something like "Crease" tool that is in MAX when you smooth an object.

For those who doesn't know what it does, it does somethin like making edges stronger by typing in a value for the selected edge on a cage. it's hard to explain
Here is a tutorial where they show how to do it in MAX (it's in French) Scroll down a bit and you will see that they make some edges stronger

Is this possible in Maya? to make certain edges stronger, because that is a really handy tool.

Hi Veqtue,

I've been modeling with polys in maya for some time now, and I do not know of a tool like this. I think that this would end up being one of the biggest improvements to the poly modeling toolset. Currently I achieve the hard edges by using split poly tool to insert edges close to the edge that I want to be sharper. If anyone knows how to do this (or any GOOD plugins that can do this) please share...

Thanks

Try Subdivision Surfaces.

Thank you guys. It worked with Subdvs. I guess I have to learn more about those.
But it would be really nice if they could make that tool for Polygons too.
