I've created a polygon character, and I'm trying to put eyelashes on him. So far I haven't been able to find a way to do it. Anybody have any suggestions?

Thanks,
Jesse

you can make the polygon live and draw a curve on it where the eyelash goes then use paintfx to attach a brush to that stroke.

If you're not getting too close then I've found it sufficient to model the general shape of the eyelashes as a single unit in polys or NURBS, then just whack on a colour, spec, bump and transparency map to make the individual hairs

Rock on! :buttrock: I like the idea of attaching paint effects to a stroke. playmesumch00ns, your idea is a good one, but I plan to have a close up shot of the face, so it probably wouldn't work for me.

Thanks guys,
Jesse

it depends on how close youll see the eyelashes.
normally a simple nurbsplane + texture will work.

geometry or paintfx are also a great way to go. tough, I would use geometry for close ups.

Hi guys, I've kind of got the same problem with what I'm doing, and that sounds like a good solution but, I've drawn the curve on the live surface and I don't know how to attach a paint fx stroke to the curve!
It would be nice if you could use paint fx on a live surface but that would be a little too intuitive.

So if anyone knows, please reply

i'm trying to do the same thing too. i've try using maps , but i'm not too happy about the result. at some angles, it becomes very apparent that it is nothing but a map. i sure that i've seen some guy/girl did a pretty good job with just cv curvs. also if anyone know of a good way to create eyebrow please do tell. simply painting it on is a very poor way of depicting it, i feel.
