View Full Version : Gods/Demons - Character - Jake
This character is based on a Japanese wind god. I got a really late start on it, but I'm hoping to have it at a fairly decent level of completion by the Friday deadline.

Here's a small update with the arms attached. I'm hoping to get the upper torso complete tonight.
Here's another update on the torso. I haven't decided whether to give him hair or not.
Here is a closeup of the face.

Hi Jake,
Nice modelling on this one,
One thing thou you have too much going on in the chest area, try, instead of adding large geometry, to form the chest muscleas a bit more and then add small details...
Also, If your software allows you to , add hair, as this is meant to be a wind god there should be hair blowing in the wind...
Okay, keep it up... :wip:

Hmura,
The chest area your talking about is actually armor--somewhere between a chestplate that you would put on and an exoskeleton that would be part of his physiology. Based on your suggestion, though, I'll try to make the armored parts a little more inorganic looking.
I had always envisioned him with hair, but I don't know if I'll have time to get it on there before Friday night.
Thanks for the comments.

Wow what an interesting model :)
I really like where you are going with this...
The intricacy of your model is very impressive :D
Keep it up!
Btw - photorealism is NEVER boring!!! heheheheh
Thanks Leigh! I should have an update soon.
Well, there's nothing like having your computer flake out on you right as the deadline approaches. But here's a new update (still no legs).
Here's the back. I'm still hoping to get this guy done tonight. I think I can ... I think I can ... I think I can...

Hey he looking fantastic!! You are really good at modelling, Jake!
Yeah, and I HATE it when my computer fecks up just when you need it most (like our entire rendering farm here at work :annoyed: :annoyed: ).
But it looks like you have triumphed!! Well done! Looking forward to seeing it complete (keep up that Thomas The Tank Engine spirit!! :D)
