Another late night sketch, this time a more playful theme. Some young woman is searching for something in the darkness, maybe she ventured away from a campground at night in her search only to be discovered herself by a creature unknown to exist in the natural world. He seems to eye her with more intent than just the predator and prey scenario. I might do another piece as a sequal to show what happens when she finally notices and gets caught in his coils. :)
This is what's done so far.I tried to use my own bodytype to illustrate the girl.~Angela

Very nice theme!

My crits would be:

-the right side of the breasts need more detail...maybe a little curve going from the right arm pit to the collar bone direction would fix it.

-the bottom of the shirt should be loosend up a little from the front.

-I think you should slightly erase the line joining the thumb with the wrist.

No crits for the other character; it looks great!
Nice facial expression too:)

Cheers,

Made the changes you suggested. Worked a little more on the shirt, and added in the base skin color, hilights will be added shortly:)

I've done the main hilights and sich on the girl. Next, I'll be adding the light from the flashlight, and add more yellow to her high lights.

nice atmospheric pic you have there, I like the darkness of it. The girl seems a little too blurred to me, but I dunno if that is a real problem. I guess this is the start of a very good piece looking forward to see more

Okay, I've added the light source, as well as the highlights on the girl. I've also got the base layer/colors down for the snake-humanoid. I think the highlights should sharpen up the blur that was present in the girl.
I did some painting on the BG, since it is a cave, I wanted at least some part of the opening to be present in the composition. Though it probably won't be a very detailed one, it might even be considered a cave system she's wandering through, with openings here and there that allow light in, but who knows just yet:)

Cleaned up line layer a bit more, also painted in more of the snake humanoids highlights.

A rim light from the cave entrance might look cool and some shadows on the ground also ;) Keep up the good work.

Had those rim highlights in mind before, got them down.:) I also have been working more details into the snake humanoid, such as highlights and pattern on the lower body. I think I'm going to use reflection alone to show the scales, and not do a constant repetitive pattern. ~Angela

Cool idea...and the girl is definitely looking like she's in the environment

I think the background needs to go darker...waaaaay darker, maybe dark enough where you're only seeing a rim light from the cave opening and some highlights off the skin of the snake man from the flash light....I think that would really help set the mood of the piece and make the lighting more dynamic.

I worked more on the hilights on the snake humanoid. I think it's near finished, but I feel like there's something left I should do, any suggestions?

Nice, I think it's definitely starting to come together.

The foreground feels a bit empty to me, maybe some rocks or stalagmites or something to help add a "creepiness" factor to it. Some dripping stalactites might work too to spice up the environment.

I had to search around for some reference photos I liked that would fit in the image. I'm still working in the details here, but here's what's done of the stalagtites. I still have to add drips in a few places and I'm gonig to try to paint in a rough texture that would fit the stone deposits. Thanx for the suggestion BTW. :)

I've done more detail work here, including some toward the entrance of the cave. I felt it didn't look right without some continuity of the stalagtites.
