well im taking a digital painting class in school right now and were suppose to attempt to paint realistic clouds but when i paint at home on my LCD screen i get the colors and clouds the way i like it then when i bring it to school which are running on CRT monitors the colors seem really blown out and u cant see of the detail in the clouds... so i was trying to repaint it at school and when i brought that new file back onto my LCD monitor at home the colors were really really blown out it was almost all white i couldnt see any blues and purples in my clouds anymore...

is this something with my monitor or something? anyone got links to LCD monitor calibration guides or is this not the cause of it... im trying to finish this assignment but i dont wanna bring it to class to see something al just blown out....

CRT provides a much brighter image, it has a higher res too, but this is definately a monitor profile issue, of which u will need to calibrate.

Nothing more simple than that really, you will also have to take into account the lighting conditions u are under. Indoor office lighting i think is 5600K lighting, but its been a while since i calibrated my monitor.
