I'm trying to add my polygon objects onto a curve and i am unsure how to do it.
i made some different size and shape of polygon cubes (to be stones) and
am trying to make the objects follow the shape of the curve.

i tried using the motion path under animation but my polygons doesn't follow the entire shape of the cuve; only the locator (which is in the center of my object) of the object follows the curve. This happens because i group all of the polygon objects, it follows the curve very rough.

if i was to only copy one of the stone then i am able to make it follow the curve using the motion path, but the polygons that i made are all different shapes and sizes, that's why i group them.

i'm using maya 8.5.

Hi. Hope this helps.

Create your object. In your case the first link of you chain. Then create your path that you would like the object to follow. Grab your object and hold "c" on the keyboard to restrict your object to the curve. Place object at beginning of curve.

Select object and curve and go to animate>motion paths>attach to motion path.

Then select your object and curve and go to animate>create animation snapshot.

Good luck.
