I want to make raindrop falling in slow-motion. Like in this movie (http://www.trapcode.com/gallery/polar2007_h.mov). What effect must i use???

3d.

that looks like a sphere with some animated noise, and a nice shader on it.

You want to say that rain-drop is made in 3D Max and imported to AE??? Then add animation and effects??

Aya looks like a combination of particle emitters from trapcode and some animated raindrops made in maya, 3dsmax

It said he only made it from trapcode but thats bull id actually maybe assume he used some stock footage also.

very intresting subject to make a tutorial on. thanks for a tip ;)

my first choice would also be 3d, but i tend to do as little 3d as possible. AE gives more control, and you can always change your mind. and i think that it is possible to do in pure AE, so i'll give it a try.

cheers

My friends asked me to find way to make it for their CS Movie. So it would be nice that someone makes small tutorial. :):bounce:

well the clouds are pretty advanced particle emitters and it looks like there using alot of layers and a 3d camera so it would probably be quite a long tutorial. I could replicate something like that so if you have a question let me know Ive made artificial clouds, birds and rain in AE before and also i know Maya really well so if you need some help let me know ill keep a eye on this thread

I just need add the lightning and raindrop to video. Not clouds. :)

Yeah for lightning just get some nice lightning photos off of istock and create a realistic alpha map for them in photoshop then bring them into AE and have them have a overlay filter to blend in with the scene more and maybe add a stylize/glow to it to make it seem more to be part of the enviroment and have it fade in and fade out real quick. for the drops id do a combination of trapcode and maya or some stock footage. if you need help creating the preset in particular let me know

The rain-drop effect is made by Trapcode>Particular ( Adjusting options and layers ). I really need some skilled AE user to help me with that rain. rhoedar if you have time you could help. :scream:
