Hello CG boys and gals!
As you've already noticed my thread at the Maya forum regarding a future version of Maya has been removed under request. I'm not so mad about it because I was going to remove it myself after a while anyway, but I didn't do it on time so it hurts a bit. But that's not all, something bad happend afterwards which I will keep privately. I think that post was good, in the other hand it was bad.
It was good because I had the chance to share with such a large cg community as CGchannel and CGtalk are, the latest news on technology in computer animation software (I see it as news not disclosure). I have a feeling of sharing since when I started in this field working with Softimage and AW Dynamation, nobody at the places I worked would help me in any way to improve my skills. Much of these people I used to ask for help would only behave "nosyup" snoby that is. So I had to read all the manuals and learn everything on my own. I realized then that by sharing my knowledge I would get even more and more experience. They were like "who's this 17 year ald boy who wants to know more than us who are users of us$50000 software?" It traumatized me so I hate that. I hate when people say "oh now that maya is cheaper than Max, we're gonna loose our jobs bacause there will be more talented people" It's got nothing to do with that and it's so stupid! For Cryst sake!!!
So I guess that the freedom of information is good and healthy.
Why was it bad?
Because I broke a rule, an agreement between AW and it's beta testers to not disclose certain information. I'm aware of that...and I'm sorry ...That company (among others) helped me to develop my carrer and I offer my apologies, I didn't mean to cause any harm, the thread was removed to prevent legal issues. It wasn't good for AW in a marketing and competition perspective maybe, but in terms of information, it was excellent for future custumers I guess. Any one can get that info by entering the beta program, I saw a post about some of the new additions (much more discrete though) at cgtalk.
I have since talked to the administrators here at CGtalk and I will contact Chris Ford from AliasWavefront soon to explain everything. I'm sorry to say I will no longer publish any content nor information regarding this software release until its final version is available. I won't even mention it again.
I want to thank Sygma and Jean-Eric for their support on a lil problem I had because of this and I thank you boys and gals for your support.
You see, CGchannel is big now and everybody's watching, ain't tha cool? :)
