Can we do this in Cinema4d?

http://www.3dtrainingonline.com/spline_tutorial.mov
or
http://www.trinitymediainc.com/Tutorials/html/modeling_2.html
(planemodel)
or
http://www.lwg3d.org/forums/showthread.php?threadid=4936
(this one is realygood..;))

or something similar? ( maybe a plug?)

"Can we do this in Cinema4d?"

No spline-patching in C4D.

Then should it be in our wishlist for R9?

It's already there ;)

While we don't have spline patching, you could use loftNURBS to follow a lot of those tutorials. Wouldn't be pleasant, but you could do it. ;)

Don't forget BezierNURBS they can be useful sometimes ;)

exactly, as long as you keep your bezier nurbs all the same final resolution, you can make all of your beziernurb patches and place them how they need to be place, then select all, make editable, then use a pllugin like stitch and sew to mend them.

.. but it would be nicer if you could controll (bezier)patches by laying a "grid" of splines..

.. and i am greatful..

.. I try to explain what I am doing.. ( or trying to do..)

Made a Hirez polyogon headmodel in Zbrush, exported as .obj into cinema4d, here I got 2 options to make a low(lower) polygon version of that mesh,
1. project splines and then loftextrude
2. use 3d-snapping and make controlpoints, then bridge and connect..

3. way would be the patch way, if it had worked.. ( using 3d-snapping and drawing splines on the mesh, then patch..)

well well.. we do it the hard way then.. ( allways looking for shourtcuts.. :D)

Thanks!

Of course a fourth way would be to use polygon reduction, but that probably wouldn't work too well if you are planning to animate.
