View Full Version : creating ground texture
daphnev 04-19-2007, 07:49 PM I'm hoping someone can help me here!!! I am making my first outdoor scene and trying to get a good ground texture. I layered tons of different colour maps in photoshop (grass, mud, moss etcc) and then created my own displacement map where I want it to displace. It is looking ok, but still a little empty. I need to add tree branches and stuff like that on the ground but leaves and grass is not going so well. I tried making planes for the grass and it hasnt worked as I liked it to, I've tried Max's hair. I am thinking I might need to combine things. Anybody have any suggestions?
thanks

Posting a render would be great. Try scatter or PFlow to scatter leaves and branches, little stones and debris. The Advanced Painter script is great for placing small pebbles and gras, you may try this out.

Sorry I wasn't clear... I was asking which script does advanced painter... I thought those are just "comments with words" you suggested but script with different name. Sorry for misleading I should have search first before ask. :)
BTW thanks for the link
