Eki's ModPak V1.0 has been released.

http://www.kolumbus.fi/erkki.halkka/modpak/

Eki's ModPak is a collection of nine LightWave Modeler utilities, compatible with LightWave 7.5 and 7.5b. The current version includes:

CityGen - Grow procedural buildings and cities, either from premade, selected polygons and splines (floorplan) or from scratch

TreeGen - Make your own trees with user definable parameters

Q-Bevel - Create smooth round bevels with various parameters

Q-SMSbevel - bevel multiple polygons as a group

Q-Thick - Give thickness to existing "flat" mesh

Q-Air - Add air polygons and surface to existing mesh

Q-Polydel - randomly delete a given percentage of polygons in existing mesh, or delete polygons based on the surface normal direction

Q-scratchdel - clear all unselected layers

Example renderings (also available in PlugPak / ModPak user gallery):

Eki's ModPak 1.0 can be registered now for $50.

There are also two bundles available:

1. The existing, registered users of Eki's PlugPak can register the Eki's ModPak for $30.

2. Both PlugPak and ModPak can be registered at once, as a bundle. The registration fee is $80.

Eki's ModPak installs in unregistered mode, unless correct password is given. It is fully functional, but has some requesters encouraging to register, as well as a random 1-30 second time delay before the interface opens.

Other news:

Eki's PlugPak 2.1 is available for download at

http://www.kolumbus.fi/erkki.halkka/plugpak/

This maintenance upgrade is free for registered PlugPak users. It's a full install that overwrites the old scripts.

If you plan to, I am looking forward to your tutorial on these buildings like the one you wrote for Keyframe magazine on Weather Droids.

Thanks.

Yep, i'm definitely going to write tutorials on ModPak, and hopefully one of them will make it to Keyframe too ;-)

The buildings in the attached image were easy though - i recall i just ran CityGen at default settings...

The current version gives the buildings surface names, but doesn't apply surface properties yet (like textures etc.), so the buildings were textured manually, by applying some of the preset surfaces i've made.

I will most probably make these surface presets available as a free download in near future.

What does "Bad magic value on input file" mean? I get that on running the Modpak 1.0 installer...

I smell a "kill all configs" necessity here... I didn't do that with the upgrade to 7.5b. I'll see if that's it...

edit: No, clean configs, still a "magic value" problem. Win2k/ LW 7.5b.

EDIT AGAIN -- my goof, I was trying to install PlugPak 2 in Modeler by mistake -- duh!:rolleyes:

You're not the first one ;-)

PlugPak = LAYOUT
ModPak = MODELER

Is this compatible with 7.5b?

Yes it is, though it's not thoroughly tested yet...

I prefer using this link for the user gallery: it maintains the navigation bars...

Thanks for the compliments!
