Dang! That's bad news.
There is still plenty of reason to buy an XBox, though.
Halo 1
Splinter Cell
Rallisport Challenge
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Indiana Jones
Morrowind
Mechassault
Unreal Championship
Metal Gear Solid 2 Substance
etc.
And plenty of upcoming titles, too!
why is it that so many ppl are so excited about halo? its a shitty game! you cant have a shooter on a console. you cant control your character with a pad. it takes away all of the really intense action and game play. and about the multi player... jesus! you cant have a multi player shooter with a divided screen! it makes no sense.
just my humble opinion :D

I find strafing a lot easier with a pad than with the keyboard and mouse. with the pad I can run in a circle while constantly facing my target. Havent been able to get that down yet with the keyboard.
And on the x-box, you can connect multiple consols to multiple tvs. and with xbox live conect them over the internet. Although, It is nice to see where your team mates are or even your enimies:twisted:

what about sudden movement. like if you need to rapidly turn around or in some direction from where a threat appears? can you do that with the pad?

Course you can, otherwise would anyone finish Halo? Halo is the best game experience I've played in the last, dunno, 15 years? Its as near perfect as any game has gotten, I reckon, in terms of game balance, immersion, visuals etc. I just wish it went on, & on, & on & on.

only thing i can think of that would make halo better..is making the enemies look..i dunno..a little more rusty / dirty lookin..and more bad ass...i'm not to keen on the shiny armor...that and the funny noises make them sound un-intelligent, when everyone knows that a race with hover crafts and plasma guns aint stupid
in 2 or so years i'll send my demo reel to them and hopefully see what happens...

Sometimes you have to let your imagination run wild; Maybe the shiney parts of alien armor is a synthetic plastic-like material, or maybe they dont reuse old armor like the space marines do. As for the wierd sounds the alien grunts make, I think it gives them personality, and adds humor/ comic-relief. I dont know the Halo story but maybe these particular "dumb" aliens are dominated and controlled by a smarter alien species not shown, who also has more to do with the technology, etc.

I kind of like the comedy aspect of the game - theres nothing funnier than running (alright - walking quickly) after an alien screaming "He's gonna kill us allllll!!". Its funny right up until one of his mates sneaks up behind you & attaches a grenade to your back LOL :applause:

It is a good game!

Woot! They're making a PC version! Finally!
Man, I remember the E3 four, maybe five years ago when Bungie first showed Halo on the PC. I was droolin' for that game! Then MS bought 'em and swore they would have the PC version out right after the Xbox version shipped...I thought they'd forgotten.
I'm sure some people can play an FPS on a pad, but not me. It's like the first time I ever used +mouselook; always looking at the ground or straight up in the air, strafing instead of turning, etc....I just sucked at it.

Had me some Halo PC action today... :)
As for the alien armor...that will reveal itself as the backstory unfolds...
...and E3 this year will be fun :)

I agree with all the Halo lovers out there, what an amazing game.
Me and a colleague played through every level on every setting in our lunch hours, christ I nearly staved to death.
When the PC version is released will it have all the same multiplayer modes over a lan as the console and will we be able to play multiplayer with just the one disc or do I have to start saving my lunch money ?
Keep up the amazing work.

What pad do you use on the PC? I saw a way to connect a N64 pad to a PC and would love to have a PS2 or XBox Controler.

Don't get too excited - Bungie isn't the one doing the port - Gearbox software is, and their last few games have been pretty bad. Hopefully they won't screw it up though. :hmm:

Ahhh. There's always a catch, isn't there? :hmm:
That's kind of weird though, because they said having to do the PC version was one of the reasons they had to push the Halo2 into next year.

Hmmmm... Maybe Bungie is making some higher res models and textures for Halo 1??? *crosses fingers*
(Or maybe whoever wrote the article just screwed up...)

That's pretty sweet, they have a USB connector for all controllers, GC, PS2, Xbox, and even for the Dreamcast.

I hate to play console games now ever since I moved on to the PC game experience. When I was a teen I loved them. As I got older I got more involved in 3d design and also started to play more PC 3d games. As the PC 3d game titles improved and the level editors got more dynamic, console gaming seemed childish as my gaming taste got more refined. PC games are the "fine wine" of gaming.
Yeah I'd love to see Halo on the PC! That is, of course if Halo has a a good level editor.

HALO 2 is XBOX only... and Doom 3 is making a visit to the system...
...so your point is moot.

Heehee! I don't want to start any flamewars, but can you imagine what Doom 3 would look like on the PS2? lol! They don't have enough RAM to do it justice.

ps2 is a bit older than xbox too, just watch the clash between ps3 and xbox2, than the comparison will be justified

ow my mistake, i forgot we live in a world where they try to squeeze every last drop out of a good concept...
in case you were still wondering , i am not anti-bungee, played Myth once, good game, but i'm anti M$, they only used Halo as huge attaction to launch the x-box, and now they are letting your company port the game to pc...
My 2cents is they'll do exactly the same with Halo 2, if it is as succesfull as nr1 off course

That tends to be relative to the group of virtual friends you're playing against.
Does anyone still play marathon over there?
