View Full Version : Needed a tutorial on Game Characters
TFarrar 03-11-2003, 05:46 AM Does anyone know where to find a tutorial, book, or DVD on how the make game characters like in DOA 3 or Mortal Combat DA that is completed and for Maya. I am having a difficult time with creating heads.

Thanks and I'm sure I'll learn alot more with those tutorials, but I really need somthing more human. Here Ill post what I have done so far.

ok, i made one and i took it for my avatar, i need to know if this one is with too few poligons, and thx for the tutorial mumbojumbo, and nice modeling Remy, can you tell me the polycount?

bugo, you avatar looks good I would loved to see your tutorial on it. The girl I posted above is 404 Quads and would be 770 Triangulated.
ok, Remy i think that your head model is great! you need just to split all the edges and separate it from inside of the mouth and create some poligons inside for the animation stuff! The neck will be better if you addict more edges too coz one bone will be in there below the head will be there. Below the mouth you can just separate some edges on it, coz they are too close... and after that you can try doing some UV mapping, i will love to see this face texturized!
Dont know if I can help you with UV mapping, im newbie too, just try cilindrical texture on the head and planar (camera adjust) on the other body parts, just to begin!
