View Full Version : MR out of memory!

Hello, i have a problem with MR,i tried to render a full mesh imported from Zbrush(900.000 polygons) and Maya crashes.I am interested of a technique for making this posiblle.My sistem:os-Windows xp,core 2 duo 2400,2 g ram.To 600.000 it was no problem but for 900.000 polys maya closed automaticly.
So i am not interested here about alternative techniques of rendering Zbrush meshes(displacement,Normal map) i know about them ...i want to know how to set MR to render in long time (no problem) high scenes.I read in mental ray help about posibilites of rendering over 10 milions polys if you set MR with Large BSP or Grid,but none of it worked with my scene.
So if everyone knows about professional Mr setting for heavy scenes,that way no crashes occures ,and MR use cleaverly the memory i have ,please tell me!Thanks a lot!
