This model is goin to be a major character in the project am workin rightnow.
So, this has to be modeled in such a way ' mouth can be added to it easily '.
( defenetly mouth is not goin to be along the stiches, but somewhere the stiches are'nt there )

No tutorial but a script

http://www.scriptspot.com/3ds-max/balls-maker

And a little gif-animation for modeliung a tennis ball. The seams run around the ball quite the same way, maybe this helps.

I had to do a tennis ball and I found this tutorial. It's the same idea, just extrude up instead of in.

Hope it helps
