Great dragon. I wonder, do you have any animations of him that you could show us? I'll bet he looks great when he's moving. :D Nice stuff. :D

Thanks for the replies, guys. The dragon is already rigged, with some custom attributes and some neat expressions :) . In the image below, you can see the controls for the right wing. I´m in love with parameter wiring! Almost everything that i do in max now have it.
Here is a viewport grab:

I hope to find some free time to make this guy fly :)

I love the dragon and the bust. There is so much detail and its so refined it just boggles my mind.
I've been checking out this site the last few days and I'm simply amazed at the quality of the models on here. Are all of you professionals with schooling in these programs or are alot of you self taught? I'd really like to break into the scene and I'm kicking around the idea of a career in CG art but I'd like to get my feet wet before latching on to such a commitment.
Any comments would be appreciated.

redsandman: I am self self taught, and i think the majority of the guys here are too. You know, there´s lots of material on the web that can guide you in your first steps, and the rest comes with hard work. I think that the best way to learn 3D is just fall in love with this stuff :)

I agree completely.
When one is completely devoted to a task that is enjoyable, very little can come in the way of achieving desired results.
An excellent dragon: by what method do you use for the skin/scales? Do you use procedural or texture maps?

D. Phoenix: The textures are all hand-painted in PS.

Congrats, beautiful model !:) :)
I just think you could filter the textures a little bit - they seem to be a little "hard" on the legs (or, maybe, you could soften the bump a little ).
Have you animated it already?
(É muito legal ver a quantidade caras 3d excelentes aparecendo aqui no Brasil... nosso país ainda toma jeito!)

Pentagramma: Hey, a brazillian fellow! ;) Thanks for the reply. You have a good eye, just the first image have some filtering and antialiasing, in the others i turned them off because i liked the crisp look, the details are very small and the antialising blurred them all. But in next renderings i will turn them on, specially in the animation :) .
(Ei, eu já vi seu trabalho e é muito bom! Eita que o Brasil tá bem na fita!)
Abhinav3d: My intention with this model wasn´t make something perfectly real, but give him a "fairy tale" look (so blood is out of question :) ). But you are right, perhaps he is too clean. I will think about that.
