Hello, I'm using editstudio 2 from the computer arts mag. I also use axogon 1, a beta version of mainvision, it's a great compositer and effects program, but I can't get the motion blur tool to work under win 2000,
I was wanting to know of any other free video/effect programs out there. Does anybody know of any?

Switch to Linux (it's free :p)
and install the software you can download at http://heroinewarrior.com/cinelerra.php3 (also free :D)

I dunno whether this is any good, but better than nothing. Here is also a nice info page on the subject Linux and video editing (http://www.robfisher.net/video/)

I hope this helps! :wavey:

Hey, good girondi - I believe I had also in mind that Avid is going to do this...
And by the way, I also remind that Newtek offers a free version of Aura on http://www.newtek.com/products/aura/auradv/free.html

You just need to find a retailer of Newtek products and have a demonstration of Lightwave or Aura or whatever... hum... I don't like the idea much...

just found this for audio

http://www.digidesign.com/ptfree/

"Pro Tools FREE offers up to 8 tracks of audio and 48 tracks of MIDI, real-time plug-ins, and many of the same editing and mixing features the pros use. "

only runs Mac OS v8.6 & v9.x
or Win 98/me

For audio I used DDClip before switching to AVID for any type of editing needs.

I'm trying to think of any free NLEs but I'm not coming up with anything beside AVID's free one. There are quite a few cheep ones out there right now. I just saw Pinnacle Studio 8 for I think $25 after rebates at one of the big local stores (Best Buy, CompUSA or a store of that type).

Here it comes: Jahshaka !

The worlds first OpenSource Realtime Editing and Effects System. Jahshaka uses the power of OpenGL and OpenML to give its users exceptional levels of performance.

Plans are for Linux, Irix and Windows, and even Mac OsX support!

I compiled version 1.8. It's ok, but lacks most of the tools to get anything done beyond the bare basics. Has alot of potential though.
