View Full Version : Change Default Texture Mapping Size

I'd like to change the size of the default texture mapping size (cubic mapping) to be 12in x 12in, instead of the 200x200, to better fit the size of most of my texture maps (architectural materials) and avoid re-scaling every single texture.

I've heard of a way to change sizes of default objects, like cubes, but is there a similar way to do this for texture mapping, and if so, how do I do it?

edit: I'd like the default mapping to be cubic, instead of UVW as well as the smaller size.

I can get the size to be 12"x12" by using the method described in a recent post about object sizes: use the AM to "set as default", but this doesn't make cubic mapping default - only the size, once I change it to cubic.

i take it, from the lack of replies, that it's not possible to change the default texture mapping method from UVW to cubic??

I find that rather odd. :(

You can save it as default in the AM Edit menu "Set As Default". Unfortunatly it seems the projection will not be saved as default, so you have to set UVW to cubic manually. Scale will be saved though. Alternatively you can save it as tag preset by right clicking on the texture tag. This will also save the projection type. You can load these texture tags from the Content Browser's "User" folder then.
