I'm interested in picking up the new CS3 suite, but I'm wondering how it's going to perform on the older G5 Macs. I've got the Quad model, which was a workhorse in its time, and plenty of RAM. But I suspect the CS3 stuff was written with the Intel architecture in mind...

Any comments?

Thanks

Suppose it depends how crucial the speed of your mac is.

I have a venerable Dual 1.8 G5 (filled with ram) in work... and will upgrade to CS3 without succumbing to the sexy new intels... yet!

but CS3 will be way beyond my home mac - a well loved elderly titanium g4 lappy... thinks... maybe on of those imacs...

CS3 is Universal Binary, therefore built for both systems. So I would guess performance on a G5 will be improved over CS2 on the same machine...
