Title: Cherished souvenirs.
Name: Waheed Nasir.
Country: Pakistan
Software:
hi there, sharing my recent digital still life painting, "Cherished souvenirs", having a classical ambience. the entire piece has been handled with a traditional setting, of light and arrangement.
everything including, composition, focus, lighting, colors and textures were taken care of, to achieve the required dramatic mood (Classical/neo-classical/threatrical), with a dainty look...my actual concern.
painted in artrage, using tablet. its all self-visualized, from scratch. no refererence used. i only revealed what i had in my mind.
thanks for your visit...cheers all...:).

Nice! i see you back to ArtRage and your classic style.
Great brush strokes and lightening!
Keep up Bro!
Hi waheed,
The specularity of and the reflections on the vase are spectacular! Really strong impact and a good eye-catcher for the whole image.
There's a few elements in this image I am having problems with, though...: the line where the reflection on the vase is seperated to indicate a crease of some kind is not too defined. It kind of just happens to sit there, but I was wondering how exactly that section lookes or was crafted by the one who made the vase, you know?
Another thing is the mint-green petals as I can't relate to them... never seen flowers of this kind and they seemed odd to me at first glance.
Apart from that I truly think that you reached another peak with those reflections on the vase itself as they capture the entire lighting situation with a few clearly visible strokes that magically put themselves together to imply a whole environment.

While I would rather have pink flowers myself, I love the vase, the stems and the light, especially how it reflects back up from the tablecloth. Now I am interested in finding out more about Art Rage;-)

many thanks for admiring this...:).
yasin, kbarts, mu and hudro...i appreaciate u all taking the time to drop in and give this beautiful feedback, that mean a lot, always.
mu, thats just because of the many marks that glass/crystal objects get from stuff, esp fingers/hands (fingerprints). i do have such things that are full of marks. they are very sensitve to all that and they get that inside (from stems and roots) and on their outer surface. i painted all that, to make it look realistic and in use...:). they are usually confusing yet interesting shapes. highlights too have mysterious looking shapes, esp on glass/crystal objects and i always get surprises whenever i observe them closely. about those greens, yes, i know what u are talking about. they do sometimes get that special greenish cyan hues due to, dryness, lack of fresh, natural air and light. i used many hues of green including mint as uve mentioned. other reason is the juxtaposition of colours that i did, to make it look interesting and natural. i often put red, even purple on leaves too...:). for me it always works in totality and give an interesing, realistic result as a whole.
i very much hope i managed to clear things and hope u get my point. i appreciate the input. thanks again mate.
thanks again everyone...and best to all...:).

Very nice piece, as always... it might be my perception, but your strokes are getting more and more strong and precised, I reckon...and because of this,I'd love to see you going abstract with these stills of yours, just to test? It'll be absolutely great, not to mention refreshing and outstanding, since you master your technique...

you did a fine job of portraying the dramatic mood. the lighting is wonderful. I really like this. i don't have the trained eye that Mu has but i love reading critiques like this to continue to learn. keep up the great work!

harachte...lovely comment...thank u mate and yes i do agree, i feel the same way, its the flatness and flat treatment that interest me now lot more than before. infact, my work does have an abstract treatment even today. but i get your point, i might show u soon, what u just wrote about...thanks...:). just waiting for the right moment and mood.
MoonVisionStudio...thank u my friend....:).

Hi there, Waheed. I like how you painted the vase. I had to examine closely to see if that was actually a transparent glass vase or a metallic one with reflections on it. I think it is the former. To paint a still life from your own imagination is no easy feat indeed!
Great work!

Waheed
Havent been here in a while. I saw your name and i remembered it, so i had a look. For some reason i wondered what country you were from. Pakistan. I'm from the USA. No matter. I associated your name with outstanding work. This painting is outstanding and its also amazing to me that you did it in artrage. Tremendous talent. I will have to check out your website to refresh my memory and look at your other works. Truly inspiring, thank you.
