Title: Ol' Thirsty
Name: Norman Olsen
Country: Canada
Software: Photoshop, XSI

This piece features a low-poly diorama featuring an old beat-up 1954 Chevy pickup truck parked at a small gas station. This scene was built using XSI 5.1 and Photoshop 7. The meshes in the scene had to contain completely unique UVs as the lighting information was rendermapped (an XSI term for baking lighting information into the textures). Ambient occlusion (both computed and hand painted) are also included in the textures.

All comments welcome.

Cheers,

Norm Olsen

Nice low-poly diorama. But it could be less matt surface, more shiny steel and a different backround because now it too close the bg color.
Keep up!

Thanks for the advice kbarts. I was really going for a dull dirty look. As a result, I steered clear of having anything shiny, as I was worried it would detract too much from the aged appearance I was going for. But perhaps I could have added some specular on some of the elements such as the bumper and rearview mirrors. It's something I'll keep in mind for the next time for sure.

Cheers.

Here is another image set that includes other angles / details:
