Nice, although I think you can turn down the reflection overall for the paintwork, Judging by the dirt and feel, the paint should be sun damaged, and dulled, or even a thin coat of dust/dirt.

Turn down the reflection and it's 5 Stars!

Magnificent work. Seriously - I generally don't comment on cars, not really my thing, but this is just an absolute stunner, Vladislav. 5*.

Very nice work on the texturing and modeling! Lighting looks nice as well, but shouldn't the car be darker on the one side facing the camera? If you look at the building behind it, it appears to be in total shade. But I could be mistaken.

Yes, the texture and dirt really look good.

You should move the light to the left, so that car shadow goes to the right.
*Look at the shadow of the buldings and trees, they're on the right side.
That, and you should make that paint look a bit more "dry".
But modeling is top notch.

Very well done! great textures, shaders and materials and great model. Only thing that buggers me is that the shadow under the car seems a bit too intense/dark compared to the photo...
cool work anyhoos!

Extremley Nice, I have seen a lot of Cars Modeled, and I must say I do like the detail you put on the Beatle, the dirt on the sides of the car makes it that much more believable.
Great job keep it up

This is indeed wonderfull. It looks lovely and so real, and the car almost shows emotion. My only crit would be the already mentioned shadow angle, and besides i think the shadow of the car is a tiny bit too dark, compared to the shadow of the building behind it.

I agree, the area under the canopy of the building is in shade indicating the light is above and/or behind the buildings but side of the car facing the camera has highlights as if the sun is above the camera... There is also something bothering me about the grafitti in the background, it looks too modern for 1963.
really good work though :)

i too agree about the lighting, but its not that big of a deal. the average person probably wouldn't notice it.
as for the grafitti, just cause the car is from the 60's doesnt mean the location is as well. Old bugs are still driven on the road today.

One ofe the greatest images I have seen on CG Society.. Congragilations man! Model is realy realy great and has a good poly distribution.
I wonder if you you fill us in about if the background is a photo or not...
Did you use any 3d objects but the beattle? ( by the way it is my favorite car we used to have one of them. That was orange color )
Keep it up man, nice job..

very nice work, exalently done. But i think theres one thing that you may need to do. Add some scuffs or something to the hud of the car. You can see the trash and the graphetie and such so the car should be a little bit beeten up. The tires are very well done at that. Keepup the good work my friend!

I like the first and the second one equally- both are GREAT- makes little difference turning down the reflex but it's just too AWESOME to begin with- *****-

this is a good work but i tink the integration could be better. As I can see, this is probably du to the car shadows that are too dark. If you look on the left of the picture you can see that shadows are brighter and also more diffused. But dirt are really cool man, and so is for reflections. But finally i think you could do some little adjustements to make this better.

Excellent work overall. I really like the rubber on the tires. My only suggestion would be to soften up the shadow on the pavement - it looks just a little too hard as is.
Keep it up!!!

wow i like thiis image alot, there is nothing wrong with it and its just perfect. When i saw it the first time it brought up alot of memories. I used to live in Germany and they have the VW all over the place and of course the graffiti. you put 2 really cool elements in this image and made it work together very well. so good work and keep it up. :)

Super! If I had to find anything constructive to add it would be to sharpen the clean/dirty transition of the windshield where the wiper has traveled. The fade doesn't look right to me as I have spent a lot of time on construction job sites and see a lot dirty windshields and the blades always leave sharp edges. There may be blade damage as well along it's length leaving skinny uncleaned streaks.
Top notch 4.5 rounded up to ***** from me.

Impressive,
but I also think that the shadow underneath your car should be more to the right, ( like the building right behind your car) and maybe the shadow, under the side of the car, could be a bit lighter as well, so you can see the gaps between the tiles?) You can see these gaps under the front of the car, which is good.
But I am just speculating here, Overall the work is fantastic, could you explain how you did the Lights of your car? The setting for the glass material for example? Thanks, and keep up the good work.
Great work  Good I like it :)

Did you model the building directly to the left with the graffiti on it? Are the buildings in the background a picture or modeled as well?

The only thing I wonder about is the glossy polish on the hood of the car and some on the back fender. Should a car this old and obiously not fixed up for the shot shine like that?

Hi dickens3d, hi all,
Very nice job, I like Beetles, got one ! Yours is the US model, easy to spot with the double-bar bumpers, isn't it ?
Just a few little details seeming odd :
- Driver-side rear view mirror must be a custom one as it's not the same as the passenger-side one and surely not a factory one, reminds me of some chopper rvm's,
- Door handle doesn't seem to join with the frame at its forward end, may be a render quirk, but also may be a custom open handle, some briefly existed, but how dangerous they were !!
- I just don't remember if the '63 model did have these particular headlights with fitting circlers and vertical glass, but then, I know better the European models than the US ones...
And after all, you may have chosen to customize it a little, after all it's your model, you could customize it just as an actual VW ^-^
is cool .
can you post a wireframe ? :lightbulb

I'd say, since it seems to be an old car with some dirt on, one would expect it to be a bit less shiny.
Apart from this, it's awesome!
