Hi, I am new to modeling and Maya....so I am having a hard time gettin my head around using the program on top of not understanding general modeling concepts. I don't have a lot of help other than books and tutorials so I was wondering if someone could point out some stuff. I am flying blind here. Here's a wireframe of a character I am modeling. I am just going by instinct. If you see a NONO, something that shouldn't be done please point it out, I have no clue really. I don't need help on anatomy or proportion really, if you wanna mention it please do but I am talking mroe about the process and concepts of modeling.
Thanx for any help

Heres the image, its just half a head with an instanced at-1. Not supposed to be done or anything, I just started this morning and I havn't really got around to most of it....but I constantly feel like everytime I add geomotry I am just digging myself in a hole

It's lookin' good. Are you just using basic polygons or subd's? Just curious as to how it looks smoothed. I would probably to the horns and teeth as separate objects. Nothing wrong with how you did it, but that's just how I'd do it. I don't see anything wrong with your techniques so far. You definitely want to try to do it with quad polygons for as much as you can, which I see that you are, because tri's can get a little goofy when it comes to smoothing.

Thanks :)

I am trying to keep as many quads as I can but I am gettin more and more stupid as I add detail...I think I must have created and deleted a billion edges deleted 300 edges times a piece.
