Great Challenge. Thanks, David.

Well, nothing new from here, since we all seem to be starting more or less in the same direction. It will get more interesting in stage 3.

Wow, great job on removing the orange light!

There's one little spot you might have missed tho. Behind the columns of the stairs going right, just above the right arc/tunnel. The legs of the two people going up the stairs.

Thanks...

You're absolutely right on the legs...I'll be "chopping" them off right away...

Thanks, Kerti, but you are too kind...I hope to learn a lot with this Challenge.

Here is stage 2 with the extension. I removed some of the parallax and distorted the image to a more pleasing scale.

Hey Andreas, nice work so far, the right passage seems to go up sightly but only a little. Do you plan on working up a camera move?

- Dave.

Yea good cleanup there Andreas. Only thing I noticed was the second pillar in on the right hand side - it looks like the floor overlaps slightly and is semi-transparent.

Here is my first sketch. I believe that natural and dramatic lighting can underline the "invasion of nature" character this piece is supposed to depict. I hope I can make the harsh shadows believable on the stone walls...Let's see what happens.

Oh, very nice job on fixing the perspective and fixing the windows behind the second floor pillars. Nice attention to detail! Nice sketch as well, although I think maybe if you included some buildings next door, since the NHM is in the middle of London 'n all.

Keating...thanks for the tip. I will certainly fill the left part with ruined buildings.
I had to bring the painting into MAX to model some boxes and correct the perspective, so I won't have any surprises when I get to the camera projection. Although it may look a bit weird, the perspective is now more or less correct.
I have decided on the lighting coming from the side and all the openings on the right will project interesting shadows on the walls to the left, or so I hope. Since these openings are not visible I won't have to worry about their believability. Still a lot of work to do, but I think the main setup is complete.

Hey Andreas, thanks for your help bud  really looking foward to seeing where this will go. I had real trouble setting the cam projection to match the building so in the end i got it as close as possible, rendered a wire and adjusted the photoshop doc to match wire.

Cheers again - Dave. :)

In the end I didn't help much, but I tried...

hehe, Dave, regarding the distortion...that's exactly what I did...

Worked a bit more on the matte, but I'm not entirely pleased with the way it is going, especially after looking at some of the other superb entries. Let's see what 'appens.

Hey Andreas, looking well :) So are you still doing a projection? I think you might have trouble with the trees and grass maybe. One theme i had was a jungle but i had second thoughts because of all the trees and grass, how do you work grass and plants into a projection? mmm.

Well around three weeks left :)

- Dave.

The light on the left wall feels really fantastic. Are you going to put anything in the top left of the image? In the sky there?
