Yeah I know Nascar is and I'm american.. I just didn't bother to look.

I did some searching and came up with nothing.. maybe you could buy a toy NASCAR and cut it into slices and scan them and then trace them.

Well I got a toy nascar right hear...maybe I should just try eyeballing it. I might now get the same effect in terms of proportions though.

Well then take measurement off it and layout your grid to have the same units. Iyou can take digital stills of the car using a zoom lens you will get more or less an orthographic view of it for reference.

Sorry dude I feel so bad for ya!!!! I have stacks of the cad files right from the race teams themselves,, but I can't give 'em out to anybody due to confidentuality...... sorry.. doesnt help you none I know ,, but I wanted to let you know how close you are even though I cant help ya..

How about asking at a NASCAR/Racing simulation related forum ?

Have a look at the forums at www.racesimcentral.com and check out the nascar forums....also check out the 'Racer' modelling/editing section. Lot of people there who have a lot of stuff that might be of help :)
