Hi all,

Lately, I've been ask numerous times, if I will make/draw a book, displaying my characters. I'm busy with it, as I write this down. Always a big questionmark is, will this book sell, will there be customers for such a thing? So, I'd like to ask you guys?

Do you find such a book interesting and will you buy such a book? If not, could you tell me your thoughts on this matter? Any thoughts are more then welcome. Let me know what you think, k?

Ofcourse there will be some characters in full color, and a tutorial on how I work. Here's an example:

As you really got a unique style with a lot of personality and great technical skills too, I think it will be a pleasure to have, watch, read and learn from a book like that!
Especialy when you put some well build up tutorials in there.I'm sure a lot of people will be quit happy learning from you.In any case, I'll definitely buy it.That's for sure...

Je mag het trouwens ook gewoon opsturen als je dit een leuk antwoord vond,:D:D:D

MVDB, I think that your best option would be to make it a "how-to draw charicatures book"

Your charicatures are like "textbook perfect" they look very professional. However, because of that, most of them also look pretty familiar!

Hi Stuh505! Yes, I know, I'm getting more and more of those comments these days. People say they see someone they know in my sketches.. Funny thing, 'cause I don't even know the people they recognize, hahaha! (sketches are all from scratch, with no reference and usualy just for warm-ups at the beginning of my workday). Makes me laugh.. and makes me believe I'm doing ok I guess.. Thanx!

Feyd-Rautha, cheers!

Hi!
I would buy it.
I agree : with tutorials in, it's a +.
But, your quick faces studies are already kind of tuto, because you reveals very well with the pencil, the structures you have in your mind (geometry etc) and just looking at them, I am already learning:)
cheers

Michael, I have the greatest admiration for your work. I follow everything you produce. You have an incredible sense of style. I feel pretty confident that your book would sell. After seeing what you did in a morning - I obviously need to buy one :D

You have a vast network here and almost 75000 views of your CGportfolio (About 1000 of those views are mine though). I think you have a large enough audience to support it. As with anything, your distribution channel / publisher is probably key to it being successful. But you likely know that better than anyone.

Wish you the best in this endeavor,
-Rob

I think i will sell fo sure. you have a cool cartoony style which is interesting. If you explain people how you work and what inspires you and how you translate your ideas on paper/screen it will work for sure. there are a lot of beginning artists out there that want to learn this so your book will be appriciated. i think.

Hi Mike! Thanx buddy!

Here's a sketch I did yesterday for the 'Cow':

These sketches go way back, but since I opened this thread I thought wouldn't hurt to show it.. I hope I don't offend anybody?.. otherwise I'll surely delete those last two..
