In the name of self empowement as artist and the simple love of doing what we do, we have created a CG/Motion graphics gallery at a place called Seco in the Shibuya ward of Tokyo.

The goal is to give animators the oppotunity to display their works while challenging a new media.

The gallery is called multispace. For more information visit http://www.lw-e.com.

We are looking for more contributors and more people to spread the good word.

If you are in the Tokyo area then feel free to drop by and visit. we will have a digital lounge party, "Konen" on 5/6 to display the works submitted so far, to network and exchange ideas, and overtime, to use this as a change to generate enough energy to attract new opportunities for the artists involved.

Hi Marcus,

I'm definitely going to try and check this out, although I'll just be coming back from a Golden Week trip to Okinawa. I'll send more questions to the email provided, but do you know of any decent online communities for Japanese CG artists? Doesn't have to be in English, although it'd help. ;)

On the popular social networking site mixi. There is a Maya community which has about 3000 members or so. There are also several CG and Animation communities.

Mixi is all japanese of course and the only way to join is to be invited by someone else. If you would like to join and explore what's out there I could send you an invitation to join my mixi group.
