I am trying out xsi trial i have a found a problem when creating cube or any other primitive. I get this stupid black spot around it. Can anyone tell me how to get rid of that stuff.

invert the normals :D

That shouldn't be happening on object creation.

What steps lead you to that result? Start with and new scene.

I start new scene create primitive cube and that black spot happen front is ok but if you rotate it it show that stupid black stuff.

I don't think it should be that black, but try turning on the headlight.

Edit: Yup, Just checked, that is probably your issue. XSI's default light is static unless you turn on the "headlight" under the camera properties or create a different light rig. In XSI preferences, you can make the headlight default on. I do this and if I need a more advanced light setup, create it myself.

goto to Display group, in the General tab check Enable View Head Light for New Scenes

That's strange, it's almost as if there is no light shining on that side of the object... Wait, Maybe there's no light shining on that side of the object? :D

Thanks very much now that only works for new scene i had a old save scene i checked that but didn't work. Anyway i used 3 spot light around they model and now no dark spot.

Headlight is accesible from camera properties, Camera Display tab, Head Light group, just check (yes, that's right) Enable Head Light. RTXG.

It worked thanks alot dude no more spot light yeaah. By they way i like xsi polygon modeling is sweet.

I'm confused about how the default infinite light is a spot light in your install. Hmm, well I guess you have it working now.
