I bought some images and i have problems fixing them.I have a face of an old man from front and side and the images don't match. On side the eyes are lower,on front the ears are higher and son.
How do you guys deal with this kind of problems? How to fix these kind of stuff and get them ready to use them as imaga planes for modeling?
Cheers

matching front and side photos is a natural unavoidable part of the reference preparation process.
For me, the best way I've found of matching photos is to match a front and side render of an already modeled 3D head (that way they're a perfect match), then in photoshop positioning (and rotating and scaling - ctrl T) the photo references against the 3D references not each other. In particular, it makes rotating the side view to the best angle a lot easier. Also, I put the front and side images on a single image which I map onto a single wide plane with a 2:1 width x height ratio. That way I don't have to fool around matching the size and height of two different reference planes in 3D, it's already baked into the reference image. I still use two reference planes, but one is just an exact copy of the other rotated 90 on the vertical axis.
Keep in mind too, that with photos you'll never get a perfect match, there'll always be a certain level of 'fudging' you'll have to do.

Hi Kico,
I agree with previous thread. You always need to scale photos, rotate them etc. There is no reference that matches perfectly. Nice tut about matching photos you can find here: http://www.3dtutorials.sk/index.php?tutorials=0&software=1&id=114
I hope it will help :)

Don't forget to correct the lens distortion. There is a filter in Photoshop CS2 for this. Also be sure you are matching the side view to the correct side of the front view. Since most faces have slight differences from left to right an ear or eye that is a bit higher on one side could mess you all up if you use the left side view to match against the right side of the front view.
