thanks again guys ;)
I start up almost every time with one area light from the top and another point light from the bottom.
then I add few directional spots and a lot of point lights with ranges(falloff) to light up the areas I want.

this looks cool.

i think the antenaes should be moving more...they usual always move since insect sense with them..

i like the jerkiness of the movements...

maybe the one of the left can be tapping his fingers while he waits for the other to move the object.

also, maybe have the one on the right slap his left hand down on the table when he comes to his resting position after he moves the object. like he's satisfied with his decision.

that's all i have for now.

awesome work!

Hi
well, actually I haven't animated the fingers yet.
I will do it but I have to practise a little bit, because the left character shoud definately be more passive when the right one is moving, to grab the attention of the viewer. I will also add some movement to the , eeh lips, face, the funny ending of the characters face.

thanks for comments ;))))

hey thanks xtrm3d:)
I'm trying to work on this shot more.
I will post some next parts soon, but I have aleady updated the file

http://www.3dluvr.com/jonkajtys/obrazki/mpegz/2robalitos2.mpg

Not sure if you have seen updated one...
anyway, I'm still working on the next movement.
I have just purchased the keytrak plugin, and I find it really usefull when it comes to character animation. Since you are using LW, you shoud try it too. :)))

Best regards

Hey, cool image quality.

If its not top-secret i was just wondering if you could briefly run through what you did to it in After Effects?

it looks like the bug lying down is going to stroke and give the tentacle a bit of tender loving. Is that what your trying to go for?

If it is then maybe you should give the bug more of a missionary position... its a more open body posture

Man that's awesome, yes I know I repeat !

One question, Mantis was made with C4D, what made you change to LW ? I've always thought C4D 7 a big competitor to LW ?

I'd like an opinion coming from someone knowing them both .

Keep it up !

HI!
Facial, I have changed the platform actually. I was doing "Mantis" on Macintosh G4, and It was rather hard, because I didn't use any OpenGL acceleration (Cinema crashed on Mac with OpenGL on) So every heavy scene was really pain in the ass to rotate and manipulate. So I have tried Cinema on PC and compared it to Lightwave on PC , and Lightwave was definately quicker in OpenGL and quite stable. Plus I was looking for some really good character animation tools, and found out about Messiah.
But the last version of Cinema 4D I have used was 6.1, so I dont actually know anything about ver 7.

Cheers :)
