Admittedly this is my first go at using SteadyCam Pro Free but this has got me stumped after pouring over vid tuts and documentation.

Basically Aligning a Camera to a spline doesent seem to take the spline's interpolation into account. It seems to default to an adaptive type interpolation which is really useless unless you have evenly spaced points. Even in the example scene the camera position doesnt seem to adjust when the spline interpolation type and number is changed. Anyone come across this issue?

My apologies if its something simple.

Lennart hasn't jumped in yet, so I can provide the early, rough answer.

It's a feature, not a bug. The intent is so that, whatever your spline type, SteadyCam works the same. In Lennart's example movies there's one that features a car being followed by the camera. The road is constructed from a sweep nurb using a path spline interpolation that wouldn't work optimally for that camera animation. SC allows you to use that spline for your camera by overlaying its own interpolation.

There's a slider called 'Soft' that controls this feature; I leave it at 0. Can't remember which tag it's on, but it's near the bottom. Cheers, gov

Thanks for the reply. The answer seems to be in the 'C-Natural' parameter.

Thanks Govinda.
We pretty much cover the globe here, New Zealand, USA and Sweden...
And, yes, C-Natural is the parameter.
T/P-Soft and C-Soft gives a small ease in/out for panning/moving.

In v3, T- and R-SoftPos also add a small ease in/out along the spline(s).

Thanks Lennart,

This very useful plugin has saved me a lot of work!

Ok, next question. - Is there anything resembling a up vector (Y) target in SCpro?

cheers

There is no dedicated uptarget.
In SteadyCAMPROv3 there is the SteadyBANK that have auto turn (in all three axis)
reading a single spline.

Cheers
Lennart
