View Full Version : April/May Challenge Cartoon Rejects.
Dann-O 04-14-2007, 09:59 AM beOK well time for a new challenge we will run it until the end of May. Cartoon Rejects so that is open to interpretation think of Saturday morning cartoons etc and a character that just does not quite make it. They can be riginal or a spin on an existing character. Ex Wilma Flinstones slutty sister Wanda. Let your mind wander and come up with something fun. Ok this is a toon challenge so well realism if it works OK.
So make a new thread with your entry and name. show some progress. If there are a number of threads then at the end of May we will post our entries in a new thread if there is only one or two then one will be a default winner. Ex myself and another person the other person will be the default winner.
OK have fun with this.

I dont get exactly what you mean by rejects. You mean background characters that are behind the main characters in a cartoon series?

I think the idea is to create a character that might have been invented --- but because of (obvious) shortcomings, never could have actually appeared in a cartoon.

stm31415 you got it right. They can be original unique characters or variations on existing ones. Characters whose shortcommings will not allow them to be in the cartoon. They can be compleatly original characters too. But they might be too odd for a standard cartoon. I am still thinking of ideas now.

I've switch to max for modelling these days..I'll see if I can get a spare lunchtime or two to boot up wings and submit something..
If we show wires can we render these out elsewhere?

I think most of us render in different programs. If I had the spare change for max...... My entry is weak and might go with a new one in my style rather than try to do something in the power puff girls style. I am thinking a Tapir with a patch over one eye.
