the bump look totally weird, and i really need some help :)

looks a bit like filtering artifacts. What's the resolution of your bump map?

it looks nice when i apply the bump map as colour, so the uv`s are fine
Are you using uv sets? Or a layered texture for bump?

Looks like bump value is too high :shrug: (or low, if it's negative :p )

the uv sets are probably the problem. I thought they fiuxed this in 4.5 but in maya 4 you can only use the first uv set to control bump, maya will just ignore any other ones. sucks
Like playmesumch00ns pointed out, bump mapping will only use the first uv set.

hmm so is there a way to replace the default(or first) uv set with the one i need? cause i`ve spent a great deal of time getting the uv map right and it would be hell to do it all over again.
