Hi guys. To start, I want you to know, I am a complete amateur at 3D Modeling, but that's why I'm here asking for help though, right?
So I'm making a character model in Maya, and I've gotten the initial structure of the body to how I wanted it. I place it in its own layer, turn it off, and start working on the head in a different layer. I've progressed with the head, and I decide to randomly look at my body, so I turn on the body layer and find that my body isn't there. I don't know what I could have possibly done to make it go away. After all the Undo's I've done, it won't undo anymore. However, when I look at the body layer, I see a single vert as seen here:
http://img85.imageshack.us/img85/2203/help1tt4.th.jpg (http://img85.imageshack.us/my.php?image=help1tt4.jpg)
I'm guessing I somehow accidently merged all the verts into one, as shown here:
http://img259.imageshack.us/img259/6528/help2zo8.th.jpg (http://img259.imageshack.us/my.php?image=help2zo8.jpg)
So I guess I'm wondering if there is anyway to undo that polymergevert in the channels box? Or perhaps is there a way to continue undoing my history that I don't know of?
As a side note, for somereason, I can't display how many polys, verts, faces, edges, etc. on my home computer, but when I go into UV Texture Editor, I see this:
http://img85.imageshack.us/img85/8553/help3gu1.th.jpg (http://img85.imageshack.us/my.php?image=help3gu1.jpg)
Which I think proves there is definetly something going on in my body layer, and the "single" vert I select?
For the meantime, I will continue working on completing my head and hope for some help. If you need the file, I can definetly send it. I know I can just redo the whole body, but since I'm new to 3D Modeling, it will take me a while, and I'd rather have the problem solved. And I am running maya 8.5 on this project.
Thanks
