"DRAW IN THE STYLE OF: Ansel Adams"

Ansel Easton Adams (February 20, 1902 – April 22, 1984) was an American photographer, best known for his black and white photographs of California's Yosemite Valley.
Adams also authored numerous books about photography, including his trilogy of technical instruction manuals (The Camera, The Negative and The Print); co-founded Group f/64 along with other masters like Edward Weston, Willard Van Dyke, and Imogen Cunningham; and created, with Fred Archer the zone system. The zone system is a technique which allows photographers to translate the light they see into specific densities on negatives and paper, thus giving them better control over finished photographs. Adams also pioneered the idea of visualization (which he often called 'previsualization', though he later acknowledged that term to be a redundancy) of the finished print based upon the measured light values in the scene being photographed.

ivy - nice one, i like the clouds especially.
embryotic - good studies, esp for the time, tho i think you could have held back the custom brushes until the values were a bit tighter.

as for me just found one i liked and copied it, hope that's ok (i mean, i can't really improve on his photos... :D). 1hr

thanks audit and shawshank I thought about copying one , but then really looked at his photos and they have very strong vertical or horizontal lines in them . I think he called it zones. So figured I better do my own thing and try to get some strong lines in it and try to capture his style.

PS - ~1h/1h15mn

I didn't really wanted to copy one of his photos so I looked at many of his photos, then closed them all and tried to find something in the same spirit. Don't know if it worked, but at least it was good value training ^^

Audit - really nice values here, and you've done a beautiful texture work, you can definetly feel the rock's material.
mfanyikazi - you can feel the depth in the pic, so that's a good thing, I just feel the foreground could use a bit of work, especially on the grass, it's just a bit too "sketchy", It would gain if you did each grass blade with a stroke per piece, more than a "zigzag line" for the whole bunch (I don't know if it's really clear, if it's not, sorry ^^; )
Sazem - nice values, nothing much to say, it's a good one, especially for the time
embryotic - great studies, though I do agree with Audit about the values it lacks a bit of depth and contrast because of this.
Shawshank - nice depth between foreground/background
Smokin - It feels perhaps a bit flat, you could perhaps improve that by having a variation in the tree values and maybe a more visible change in size.
Ivy00 - Perhaps a bit too smudgy for my tastes, but since it's a matter of taste =P Otherwise, you've got a nice sky and you can really feel the perspective on the river

aelwine - ha ha right on with the smudgy thing. I have a tendency to do that when I am not sure where I am going with something. Usually if I do that I will tighten it up and get rid of the smudgy look, but ran out of time. Perhaps I should take some time and fix it.
