View Full Version : FumeFx and transparency.
grury 04-12-2007, 08:49 AM Hi all,
I'm experiencing some weird stuff with FumeFx, when I use transparency on a mesh in the same scene as the FumeFx, max crashes during rendering. If I turn the material 100% opaque then it renders just fine.
Any clues?

Hey Tim,
I've been very busy and had no time to look into it.
I was using a Blend material, with one material 100% transparent and the other a Matte/shadow material, and as a mask a tiff sequence camera mapped to use as oclusion plane, when the smoke passed behind moving object.
In the end I had to do without the mask and "fix it in post".
Altho I noticed that if I used Atmosphere at background level on the Matte/Shadow, it didnt crash on rendering. Had no time to actually look into it properlly, so dunno if that was the actual problem.
Cheers
