Hello all,
I have a problem. I have this model and I can't figure this texture thing out. Every book I look at only has the head. My model is one piece.
Does this mean I am going to have to paint the whole body? Is there a way to single out just the head and paint textures on it?
Is there any easy way to set up a uv map?
The model right now has a layered shader on it so I can't use paint effects, because it keeps giving me a "do not support layered shaders" message.
Eventually I am going to make the whole model sub-d's , right now it is polygons.

I am using Maya 4.5 (OS X)
I don't know if I am being really retarded on this, but it is frustrating me to no end. I am also new if you can't tell.
I have provided photos.
-Plz help-

OK I'm stupid.
I went to the second page of this forum and there was the same question.
So I projected a cylindrical map to the surface of the head only.
I have a new question
I think that the layered shader that is applied to the entire body is a pretty decent overall skin texture. I have attached a picture from the hypershade containing the textures for the skin. On the picture I have circled (yellow) the blinn containing the file for the eyebrows. I only want the eyebrows to show up, how do I go about this?
I have a feeling it is going to be something to do with alpha. I just need to know what inputs and outputs to connect the eyebrow texture to.
Thx
