View Full Version : controlling joints with spline, help please

hello i am attempting to control several joints with a spline.
the spline's points are positioned the same as the joint's - it was made with the 'joints to spline' command.

i am not very familiar with the iterator functions of xpresso, but i figured i could iterate position data from each point of the spline to the corresponding joint.

the whole reason i want to do this is so that i can use the morph tags to control the spline, which will in turn control the joints. from what i know the morph tag wont work directly on joints and i am not fond of posemixer.

anyways, i can't figure it out - as soon as i hit play the joints just spread apart from eachother and the points on the spline don't seem to control anything.

is this something xpresso can do?

The Iteration and Hierarchy nodes are not coordinated with each other. Separate iterators will not work independently of each other in this way. You need to hook the Hierarchy node into an Object Index node, then connect its Index port to the Point node.

thanks i'll give that a shot.
i think i'd have much greater success trouble shooting these things myself if the result node was more sophisticated...

Use a coffee node to print to the console, there is a preset node for this in the XPool.
